Right to Read Week


Dear Parents & Students,

Our school’s Right to Read Week is Monday, March 15th through Friday, March 19th. For your information we will be having the following activities in the library:
Bookmark Contest: Students can turn in a 2” by 7.75” bookmark they made that includes anything related to reading or libraries. A template for the book mark is attached. The top 20 bookmarks will be copied for students use in the library.
Book Exchange: As a reminder, anytime through the year, students can bring in good quality, middle school level books for trading in the media center.
Fines are waived: Late fines will be waived for students this week only when books are returned.
Goin’ Green: On St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17th we will be selling green bagels for $1 while supplies last. Bruegger’s Bagles has generously donated 25 dozen bagels for our program. Please bring the coupon below to Bruegger’s during Right to Read Week and our school will also receive 15% of coupon sales for purchase of library materials!!!
Lunch Programs: Students are able to sign up for silent reading or games during lunch in the library loft.
Library Card: Students that bring in their public library card into the library can enter to win a prize.
Movie: A 10 minute Right to Read week movie will be broadcast during the school day
Student Survey: A survey is available for students to share their input on our library program.
Top Book Checkouts: Prizes will be given to students in each grade level that checked the most books out of our library.
